It is important to choose a riding helmet that fits well, the fit contributes to increased safety so that the helmet provides full protection.

When trying out a new riding helmet there is a lot to keep in mind Therefore, we have made a simple guide to facilitate and ensure that you find the right helmet for you.

Fixed-size helmets:
4911 - EQ3 Lynx Eventing (this helmet has been fitted with adjustable lacing in the neck for optimal fit and stability)
4910/4900 - EQ3 Smooth Top & Micromocca

Adjustable size helmets:
4921/4922 - Lynx Smooth Top & Micromocca
4945 - Pardus Smooth Top

Measure:

See below for further instructions on measuring for a specific model of a Trauma Void helmet.

Fitting:

Place the helmet level on the rider.  If the helmet contains a dial-fit system, adjust the dial to fit the rider securely.  Without harnessing the chinstrap, have the rider shake their head from side to side and again from front to back.

Check for movement and ask the rider if there is an even pressure or if there are any pinching or air pockets.  If the helmet does not have a dial-fit system and there is movement from side to side but not front to back, try our oval liner, which is thicker on the sides than front to back.

If there is movement overall or front to back, try going down a size. Once you’ve found a secure fit, move the brim of the helmet up and down, the rider’s eyebrows should wiggle.

Adjust the Chinstrap:

The length of your chinstrap should rest just under your chin and touch the bottom of your ear lobe. You should be able to fit one finger in the space between the strap and your chin. The strap should be secure, but still, allow you to move your head up and down comfortably.

LYNX & PARDUS SIZE GUIDE

Item #4921, 4922, 4945

Helmet Fitting/Measuring: To measure for the best fit, find the circumference of the head.  To begin, use a flexible tape measure and place it 1-1/2 cm (1/2 inch) above the eyebrows, skimming the tops of the ears. Wrap it around the back of the head to the fullest part. Using the rider’s measurement and the chart below, find the corresponding helmet for the size range.  Please note that the rider’s hair should be as worn when using the helmet. Hair is an extension of the head and must be taken into consideration for proper fit to ensure proper safety.

You can adjust the size with a dial-fit system at the rear of the helmet. This means that you get an optimal fit for your particular head. If you choose between two sizes, choose the size larger.

MIPS stands for Multi-directional Impact Protection System and is a system placed inside the helmet, designed to protect the brain by reducing the harmful forces in the event of a fall from e.g. horse or bicycle. Read more about MIPS.

CoolMax Technology

Coolmax® is developed to keep you dry and increase your comfort. Made of specially treated polyester fiber with a unique surface construction that transports moisture away from the skin through the outer layer of the fabric. There, the moisture dries faster than with any other fabric and thus regulates the skin's temperature through condensation cooling.

Certification
